Training

There are several courses on Passports available from CALL Scotland (on request). An outline of those available is below. If you'd like to arrange some training or don't see something that fits your needs, please contact us to let us know as we may be able to help!

Personal Communication Passports (General or customised)

Personal Communication Passports, which originated at CALL Scotland, are a practical and person-centred way of sharing key information for people who cannot easily speak for themselves, to support vulnerable people across transitions, to ensure consistent care and to maximise communication potential. Principles, examples of different styles of Passport, and good practice guidelines will be considered. On full day courses, participants can spend time planning and creating a Passport.

Working Together on Passports (Early Years)

This is a comprehensive training package on the creation and use of Personal Communication Passports, and how they might fit together with other approaches to the development of communication. The course brings together education and therapy professionals and parents to work on building a Passport for specific children. Half-day sessions are spread over a period of around 4 months (negotiable) with time in between sessions for interagency working and Passport creation.

Working Together on Passports (Customised, Transition Planning)

This course can be adapted to suit children of any age, to bring together different disciplines and families, and to look at the implementation of a Passports approach across a local authority. It can be tailored to particular needs, i.e. can be made more or less practical and/or more or less strategic. It may be particularly relevant to the development of Transition Planning procedures.
